Wig Arsenal

Description

More parts for my Bakura wig. Everything I need for wig-styling is right here. I ordered the hairspray from Amazon and bought everything else from Target. I've also drafted some plans for creating the wig, since the Yu-Gi-Oh anime is anything but consistent when it comes to character design.

Items from left to right:

Some blueprints for the wig I'm making. This page shows where the armatures (supports designed to hold and shape certain spikes) and where some of the more crucial spikes in the wig should go. I'm only planning on using armatures for the larger spikes, styling the smaller ones using just the hairspray and hairdryer.

The wide-toothed comb works better for the wig than a fine-toothed comb does because the texture of the fibers is different from human hair. I will have an easier time working with the wig using this comb than I would with a regular one. Plus the sharp end will make it easier for me to part sections of the wig for styling, allowing me to create a cleaner part than my fingers do.

The hairspray is the kind wig-veteran *Malindachan uses on her own styling projects, and not wanting to rely on anything less I bought a can of it from Amazon. It's called "got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Spray."

The clips are to hold larger bits of hair back. I would've liked to get the slightly smaller metal ones Arda Wigs sells on their website, but I had a Target gift card on hand and it made more sense to buy these instead. If they get the job done, who cares?

I scored with these rollers! I'm not sure if I'll actually need them, but they were only a dollar and the right size as well. If I use them at all, they'll be to give volume to the back of the wig.

Unfortunately I think I'll have to order some extra wefts from Arda Wigs to cover up patches the armatures in the wig will create. They're not that expensive, though, and I'll do what it takes to do this right.
